container garden won't work so well in a van. Honestly, we're leaving colorado when I"m done with school, and moving into a van to travel a bit, and then settle elsewhere. i dont really know where we'll end up yet at this point, but a garden is kind of out of the question when we're on the road. I'll do lots of wildcrafting though!

darcey-
that sounds like fun! we hope to do something similar in a few more years when the older 4 are out of the house. we want to get a bus and convert it into a rv. i will only do it if we have a built in stall in the back to house a goat and a few chickens as i like my fresh milk and eggs too much to leave them behind!
rebecca-
kitchen spices sounds great too! _________________ kristine brown

What a picture, tansy! A roadtrip with goats and chickens would certainly be an adventure!
Should "Kitchen spices" be our next theme then? Do you want to post an announcement on your blog? _________________ Rebecca Hartman

yes, vanning it around sounds like an amazing and wonderful experience. I t hink I need to explore the instability of it for a while before settleing somewhere. whereever that might be.
i'm still trying to figure out how to haul all my HERBS around in a van space. eeps! _________________ Medicine woman in the heart of the Sonoran Desert

lol I have a feeling you will find a way and teach us all a thing or 2.
Maybe you can even come up with suggestions for Tansy and her mini farm.
And if you come through the Ozarks, please give a holler:) _________________ ~Kristena~

i've put up a post on my blog about the next blog party. i'm repeating it here:
i'll be the host of january's blog party. please submit your links if you'd like to join in by jan 2 (i'll give a leeway due to the new year's holiday).
this month's blog theme is 'kitchen spices - discover the medicine chest in your spice cabinet'. tell us about the herbs and spices in your kitchen that you use as medicine.
GRANNYSAM: each month we blog about using herbs with a different theme. one person hosts the party and we all submit our links to our own blog post. _________________ kristine brown

| Would you all be interested in doing a blog party on how to ID weeds and medicinal plants? This comes up on the Susun Weed forum from time to time, so would be nice to have all in one place a range of thoughts and ideas from experienced wildcrafters. |

What kind of posts are you thinking of, Kate? Posts on how to ID a specific plant? Or how to approach ID'ing a plant? _________________ Rebecca Hartman

I was thinking the latter, but IDing specific plants could be good too, especially common ones that are mistaken for other plants eg dandelion.
In terms of the general IDing of plants, maybe how people approach IDing, or how they learnt? |

Interesting... It's not something I've thought about from this perspective... I'm not sure how I'd write about it. Maybe I'll post your question on this forum and see what people have to say.
As far as a blog party theme goes, maybe everyone could post on how they approach the process of getting to know a new plant, and use one plant as an example? Is that the sort of thing you were thinking of? _________________ Rebecca Hartman
