| does it make sense to work toward joining the american herbalists guild? i'd like to hear from people who have joined and maybe some experienced herbalists who decided not to. |

Depends what you want from that "AHG" after your name. I wanted something to impress local authorities ...
If you can't define what you'd need it for, it's an unnecessary yearly expense. _________________ http://www.henriettesherbal.com - Henriette, herbalist, Helsinki |

| Henriette's point is a good one. Any practitioners (and anyone else, for that matter) wanting to comply with pending GMPs will need to document their training. Being a member of AHG would certainly help. You also get the journal, which has really grown, and discounts to AHG symposia, which will add to your training documentation. |

are you a professional member of the guild, then, kavawaka?
if so, what kind of training did you have before you applied? |

| Yes, a professional member. The entrance requirements started some time after i joined (i'm a founding member) so i don't have any info on what is currently needed. i believe that the AHG website is fairly thorough in that regard. |
